Interviews

I asked people about the object I chose which is an old model of a computer speaker.

Here were my questions:

1. Are your speakers taking up too much space?
2. Are they obtrusive compared to other objects in your studio?
3. Are you happy with your sound quality?
4. Can you use them for different purposes like TV, Radio, Etc?
5. Are their too many cords tangled up under your desk?
6. Are they easy to hook up?
7. Is the power button easily accessible?
8. Can you plug in your headphones to the speakers?
9. Are they too expensive?

Here were the general answers:
1. Yes, they are too big and heavy.
2. Not necessarily, just to big.
3. Yeah, it's not bad. Good quality due to the size.
4. No, but it would be nice too switch them around.
5. Definitely.
6. Somewhat, but could be easier.
7. Yes.
8. No, there is no input.
9. Not really, but could be cheaper.

Video/Handout Summary

After watching the video and reading the summary I learned a variety of different things about design. I really liked how the whole team of designers each came up with an idea, that in the end, were all included in the final product. I learned that some ideas have to be a stretch in order to actually make improvement and reach a goal that is better then what you started with. All ideas are good ones. I learned that when working in an environment like the one we saw in the video, to always do, and execute; before asking for permission. See what you can come up with, and then if nobody says anything negative about it; it is a success.
